Would the real Slim Shady please use brakes? | After rapping about killing
his wife, Eminem has come up with a new way to meet women - bumping their bumpers.
However, it's not as bad as it sounds. She was in a Dodge Intrepid and apparently had to brake suddenly.
Em, in his Mercedes, was just behind - and didn't stop in time.
Cue
the sound of crunching metal and plastic, doors opening and... the calm swapping of insurance details.
Rather than get all agitated like certain pop stars - or their gun-wielding bodyguards might do, Britney
- Em was apparently calmness personified as he got out of the car in Fraser, Michigan and chatted to the woman.
Splash News Online reports that the star, who 'looked every inch the rap superstar
as he got out of his Mercedes with a huge piece of bling around his neck' according to an onlooker, took out his driving licence
and noted down his details.
'Eminem and the woman both seemed
pretty relaxed about the accident, and there was a lot of smiling and laughing going on,' reported the onlooker.
'Eminem was a gentleman throughout and showed he is a bit of a softy by giving
the lady a big hug before they got back in their cars and drove away.'
Eminem files for divorce — Again |
Less than three months after exchanging “til-death-do-us-parts” for the second
time with Kimberley Anne Mathers, rapper Eminem has decided to pull the plug on the marriage. |
In court papers filed this morning in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mt. Clemens, a lawyer
for Em — who goes in the filing by his legal name, Marshall B. Mathers III — cites as reasons for the divorce
“a breakdown in the marriage relationship to the extent that the objects of matrimony have been destroyed.”
The
filing shows the couple had a pre-nuptial agreement, but did not include details. Also mentioned in the filing is the fact
that Kimberley Anne Mathers is not pregnant. Em also asserts that he and Kim are “fit and proper persons to have joint
legal and physical custody” of their 10-year-old daughter, Hailie, who was the subject of a bitter custody dispute in
2001 when the couple divorced for the first time.
The couple's second marriage took place at Meadowbrook Hall in Rochester
Hills on Jan. 14.
The divorce case is slated to be heard by Chief Circuit Judge Antonio Viviano. |

Death of D12 member Proof |
A prominent member of Detroit's hip-hop community was killed in a shooting at a Detroit night
club early Tuesday morning Rapper and producer Proof, whose real name is DeShaun Holton, was one of two shooting victims
at the CCC Club on east Eight Mile Road, near Gratiot Avenue, according to Detroit police.
When police arrived at the
scene, the club was empty, Local 4 reported. Both victims had been taken to a hospital, according to police. Proof was
taken to St. John Holy Cross Hospital, and the second victim was taken to St. John Hospital, police said.
|
Both victims suffered a gunshot wound to the head, police said. Local 4 initially reported
the second victim also died, but has learned the 35-year-old man remains hospitalized in critical condition at St. John Hospital,
according to police. His name was not released.
The rapper is a long-time friend of rap star Eminem, whose real name
is Marshall Mathers. Proof appeared in Eminem's movie "Eight Mile" as Li'l Tic, the station learned.
Police are searching
for a gunman. A description was not available. A witness was being questioned by police.
The shooting remains

Eminem speaks on Proof's death |
D12 partner, longtime friend encourages fans to focus on Proof's life, not death.
April
14, 2006 - After two days of private mourning, Eminem broke his public silence late Thursday on the death of his best friend
Proof, as the slain rapper's lawyer refuted police reports that he shot first in Tuesday morning's incident at Detroit's CCC
Club.
"You don't know where to begin when you lose somebody who's been such a big part of your life for so long. Proof
and I were brothers," Eminem said in a statement regarding the death of his D12 partner, longtime onstage hype man and closest
friend (see "D12's Proof Shot And Killed At Detroit Club"). "He pushed me to become who I am. Without Proof's guidance and
encouragement there would have been a Marshall Mathers, but probably not an Eminem and certainly never a Slim Shady. Not a
day will go by without his spirit and influence around us all. He will be missed as a friend, father and both the heart and
ambassador of Detroit hip-hop."
Though the focus since Tuesday's incident has been on reports from police that it was
32-year-old Proof (born DeShaun Holton) who fired first, shooting bouncer Keith Bender Jr. in the face before he was fatally
shot by another man, Eminem encouraged fans to remember the life of Proof, not his death.
"Right now, there's a lot
of people focusing on the way he died," Eminem said."I want to remember the way he lived. Proof was funny, he was smart, he
was charming. He inspired everyone around him. He can never, ever be replaced. He was, and always will be, my best friend". |
On Thursday, Proof's lawyer, David Gorosh, strongly questioned police claims that his client
fired first. "To indicate that Proof pulled the trigger first is reckless and quite frankly it will be proved to be untrue,"
Gorosh said, according to the Detroit Free Press.
Bender remained in critical condition at St. John Hospital at press
time and his family released a statement Thursday decrying the violence that led to his shooting. "The senseless events of
Tuesday morning were extremely unfortunate, and have decimated the entire family," the statement read. "Keith is a warm, caring,
giving and charismatic young man. To see him in his current condition is nearly unbearable. Please keep Keith and our family
in your prayers as we work through this tragedy. This is an extremely difficult and sensitive time for our family in having
Keith nearly taken away from us."
Police and prosecutors continued interviewing the man suspected of shooting Proof,
28-year-old Mario Etheridge, who turned himself in Wednesday. Authorities have said that it's possible Etheridge, Bender's
cousin, may not be charged if evidence points to him shooting in self-defense or to protect someone else.
According
to the Free Press, police said CCC Club bouncer Etheridge opened fire after Proof pistol-whipped Bender, fired a round into
his head and stood over Bender and prepared to fire another shot. Etheridge shot Proof three times in the head and chest.
Without acknowledging that his client shot anyone, Etheridge's attorney, Randall Upshaw, has said that his client did nothing
illegal, also claiming that Proof shot first.
"It's disingenuous to speak to the media to try and suggest that Proof
shot first," Gorosh countered, according to the Free Press. "There are ways to determine what shots were fired and by whom.
There's an ongoing investigation. ... Until all of the factual evidence has been evaluated, an opinion by the Detroit Police
Department is premature."

Eminem Says He's Back With Ex-Wife Kim
Stranger things have happened, but not many. In a call to
a Detroit radio show on Tuesday, Eminem said that he is back together with his on-again, off-again and apparently on-again
ex-wife, Kim Mathers. In fact, he revealed that the pair may marry again, according to a story from The Associated Press.
"We have reconciled and are probably going to remarry," Eminem
told Detroit radio station WKQI-FM's "Mojo in the Morning" show. The teenage sweetheart couple, who were married in 1998 and
underwent an ugly divorce and custody battle over their daughter Hailie Jade, finalized their divorce in 2001 though
Em reportedly referred to Kim, 30, as his wife repeatedly during the interview.
Kim, who has been the unflattering subject of violent songs
like "Kim" on The Marshall Mathers LP, in which Em rapped about killing his wife, attempted suicide in the couple's
home in 2000 following a hometown concert by the rapper at the Palace of Auburn Hills and was arrested on drug charges in
2003.
Eminem also talked about his stay
in a rehabilitation facility on the radio show. He was treated earlier this year for a dependency on sleeping pills.
"When I went into rehab, I kind
of went into it ... with the notion of 'I'm gonna get clean, I'm gonna get off this stuff before it gets too out of hand,'
" he said. The news about the hospitalization came in August after the rapper canceled his European tour, initially citing
exhaustion and unspecified "other" medical issues.
Though the 33-year-old MC denied
reports in the Detroit press in July that he was retiring , in the radio interview Em made it sound like he had some time
off planned. "I'm at a point in my life right now where I feel like I don't know where my career is going," he said. "This
is the reason that we called it Curtain Call, because this could be the final thing. We don't know." In a promotional
video for the album, Em mentions that at the very least, the album is the final appearance by his Slim Shady alter ego.
Along with Tuesday's episode of
"TRL," in which Eminem discussed his daughter Hailie, this radio call is one of the only live interviews that the rapper has
planned to promote Curtain Call, according to his label, Interscope Records.

Eminem: 'I'm Not Retiring'
Eminem insists he's just taking 'a break.'
If you
bought into recent reports that Eminem has decided to hang up his mic and settle into a quiet life out of the spotlight, the
man himself has a message for you.
"I'm not retiring," Em told MTV News during a recent stop on his Anger Management
Tour.
Reports from the rapper's hometown of Detroit last week had sources close to Em saying that he
planned to retire following his Anger Management run. He's tired of the limelight, they said. He wants to produce other artists,
they said. They even gave a date — September 17, when he's slated to play Slane Castle in Ireland on the last scheduled
show of the Anger Management Tour — for his last concert.
Not so fast, said the man himself.
"When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce
my other artists and put their albums out. That's called taking a break for me," Em told MTV News. "When I know my next move,
I'll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter who writes a story about 'This is Eminem's last album.' I never said [Encore]
was my last album. I never said anything yet. I don't know what I'm doing yet. Nothing is definite, you know what I'm sayin'?
Nothing is written in stone."
Em concedes that nothing lasts forever, and that the day will eventually come when he decides
to devote all of his time to enjoying the benefits of being the biggest-selling hip-hop artist of all time — but that
day hasn't arrived yet. "I know that I'm not gonna be rapping forever, I know that much," Em said. "As long as I feel like
I got the energy in me to do it, and the spirit, and I can do it, I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna always make music, whether I'm
just sittin' behind the boards and producing and making beats and puttin' my other artists out there, or if I do decide to
do another tour or make another album. When I start doing that, people will know."
However, if Em should ever decide to step away from the game, one of his tourmates would be more
than happy to pick up the slack.
The day he retires is the day you will see me all over MTV," 50 Cent joked. "I'll be at the Movie
Awards. I'll be doing news. You'll get sick of me."
